It all began with a restaurant

Traditions and delicious cuisine are at the essence of our story. In 1974 Grandparents Rosa and Michele opened a big restaurant along the road to San Marino. We were looking for a name (for the restaurant) that could capture our core beliefs, simplicity and love for traditional cuisine. An Italian Proverb says “due cuori ed una capanna” (i.e. love in a cottage which means love on a shoestring). We inferred the love (Rosa and Michele) and opted only for Capanna Resturant.
our choice was a great success and so was the restaurant. We prepared and served typical dishes of Romagna tradition until 1980.

1982: from the restaurant to the hotel

In the year when the Italian football team, with Paolo Rossi and Bearzot, won the world championship, our family chose to go for a new challenge: acquisition of Adriana Hotel, located at the beautiful lively San Giuliano Mare. From catering first class Romagna dishes, we expanded our services to take care of our clients ‘ comfort during their stay in Rimini.

1985: we aim for more

following the restaurant and the hotel, what was the next step to get close to perfection? An ice cream shop!  so we decided to open an ice cream shop, the Gelateria Blue Bar. By the time, it could serve 250 seats and we are still running it. Over time, we did some updates to add a kitchen and a pizzeria. so that, now we gladly can serve our guests with pizza, starters, main courses (fish or meat) and of course ice cream.

1989: River Hotel opens to the public

After years of experience in the hospitality industry, we were ready to move on to a bigger adventure: The River Hotel. we bought a hotel situated a few steps away from the sea and Borgo San Giuliano of Rimini and we sat a clear goal : make our customers feel like home.

We organize the hotel’s premises, services and train our personnel with the intention of offering the best in hospitality in Romagna. Customers arrive, they feel good, they come back to River Hotel, speak highly of us and recommend our hotel to friends: outstanding results is the compensation for so much effort and our hard work.

1995: fun even outside the Hotel

Fun is an essential part of the holiday at the River Hotel. Beach parties and daily entertainmants allow us to make the day really unforgettable for our guests. The way we do welcome customers has changed, as it’s changed the concept of vacation: clients choose longer stays, it creates greater aggregation and friendships are born.

2010: an increasingly modern River Hotel

In 2010 we started major works on the Hotel’s premises: redo the plant and enlarging the bathrooms, whilst protecting the ancient villa that forms the basis of the hotel River. We organize the space inside the rooms in order to offer en-suite shower to provide our guests a better comfort. The new rooms built a great success for both our loyal customers and the new ones.

2015: a new way of hospitality

The world of hospitality is always evolving and we study many solutions to meet the new necessities. Since summer 2015, the River hotel offers the possibility of using the Bed & Breakfast service to those who wish to stay for shorter holidays. Our goal is to ensure a relaxing holiday: those who stay by choosing a B&B option can use the room until 11:00. In addition, we offer our guests agreements with the best restaurants of San Giuliano with discounted menus of the day and a la carte menu.

The partner restaurants, including our Family restaurant Bluebar , are part of the historical buildings of Borgo San Giuliano. They offer the best local cuisine, prepared according to the tradition with genuine ingredients.

A B & B is ideal for those who want to discover around the city and visit parks, villages in the surroundings and the Roman historical footprint in Rimini. From Rimini you can reach Bologna, Ravenna, San Marino, Florence, Venice, Rome with daily shuttles. In River Hotel, you can buy tour tickets at discounted prices (by Rimini Reservation) and the departure point near the hotel.

The tradition over the times

Over the years, we have renovated the hotel, refurbished bathrooms, renovated furnishings and the structure to accommodate the needs of modern hospitality. In 2016, we started the exterior renovations of the hotel to give it a breath of fresh air. The building changed its appearance, but it does not change the way we take care of you: we welcome our guests to make them feel like home, passing unforgettable holidays at one of the most beautiful parts of the Rimini.

The recent renovations have made our veranda even more comfortable and spacious, where we serve the renowned breakfast from Zia Inza, composed of both sweet and savory options. We think this is the best way to start a new day: having a tasty breakfast,while watching the sea!

    We had a 1 night stay. Room 108. Perfect breakfast, clean rooms, very nice hotel! There is a parking near the hotel. The hotel is more than 3 stars! The wi-fi worked very well. We would stay here next time.

    Good location, value for money. Got a 15% discount at a resturant for staying which was great! Staff were great and helpful, would have stayed longer. Bathroom is quirky with the layout. Have a deck with a view of the beach.
