Passion and family management at our 3-star hotel in San Giuliano di Rimini
Behind the name Hotel River there is a story, made up of people and generations who have put passion and will into creating a place made of smiles, good food and kindness.
Everything starts with a restaurant
Tradition and good food are the basis of our history. In 1974, grandparents Rosa and Michele opened a restaurant on the Rimini/San Marino highway. For their business they were looking for a name that would enhance the concept of simplicity and love for traditional cuisine: two hearts (Rosa and Michele), and a hut. Since the "hearts" were too sugary we opted for "La capanna"..
The choice was very positive, the restaurant went very well: we cooked traditional dishes from Romagna until 1980!

1982: from restaurant to boarding house
This is the year in which our family started a new adventure: the purchase of Adriana boarding house, in the beautiful and lively Rimini district of San Giuliano Mare. So we go from offering tasty lunches and dinners, to providing our guests with all the comforts to spend beautiful Rimini vacations.
1985: we get a taste for it
First the restaurant, then the boarding house: but we were still missing something to be complete, so we decided to open our own ice cream shop.
Also in San Giuliano we bought the Blue Bar Gelateria, which at the time had 250 seats and which we still manage today. Over the years we have radically transformed it, allocating a space to the creation of a kitchen and a pizzeria. Today we offer a rich catering service with a menu of meat, fish and pizza!

1989: Hotel Rivers opens
After many years of experience, in 1989, we are ready to start our greatest adventure: the Hotel River. We bought the hotel, located just a few steps from the San Giuliano seafront in Rimini, and we set ourselves a very clear goal: to make our clients feel at home.
We organize the spaces of the hotel, the services, and train our staff with the intent to offer the best of Romagna hospitality. Clients arrive, feel at home, come back, speak well of us and recommend us to their friends: an excellent result after so much effort!

1995: fun even outside the hotel
Il divertimento è parte integrante delle vacanze all’Hotel River: feste in spiaggia e animazione quotidiana ci permettono di rendere davvero indimenticabili le giornate. Cambia il modo di fare accoglienza, ma cambia anche il concetto di vacanza: i clienti scelgono soggiorni più lunghi, si crea maggiore aggregazione e nascono belle amicizie.
2010: River gets even more modern
This year we started important works to the structure: we redo the plant engineering and enlarge the bathrooms, always protecting the ancient villa that is the base of the Hotel River. We organize the spaces inside the rooms in order to provide them with shower boxes, paying particular attention to convenience and comfort.
2015: a new way of hospitality
The world of tourism is constantly evolving and we study many solutions to meet the new needs. From summer 2015 the Hotel River offers the possibility to use the Bed & Breakfast service.
We guarantee a tasty and genuine breakfast and we offer our guests agreements with the best restaurants in San Giuliano, with daily menu formulas and discounts on the a la carte menu.
The recommended restaurants, including the Family Restaurant Bluebar, are historic structures of the village that offer the classic cuisine of Romagna, prepared according to tradition with genuine ingredients.

Tradition in step with the times
Over the years we have renovated the hotel, refurbished the bathrooms, changed the furnishings and structure to accommodate modern hospitality needs. In 2016, we began exterior renovations to give the hotel a breath of fresh air.
The property changed but our way of doing things remained the same: we welcome our customers to make them feel at home, making them spend unforgettable vacations in one of the most beautiful areas of Rimini.
